Art of Consultation - The Haircolor Studio - Premier Seattle Hair Salon

We know that each and every salon visit could present new and sometimes challenging circumstances. The "Art of Consultation" provides both the stylist and the guest with a clear, easy approach to uncovering them so that we are on the right path on every visit.

Think of the art of consultation survey as our own personal GPS/mapping system that quickly and efficiently sets us on the right course to satisfy all of your hair needs. Most questions can be answered during this "digital consultation" as it requires you to send some photos.

How do you style your hair (check all that apply): Required
Previous Chemical Services (check all that apply): Required

Please attach and upload photos of what style/color you desire (inspiration photos) and a few selfies to show where we are starting.

Some guests prefer to receive their "natural color" when having a coloring service done. People generally identify their natural color as their color between the ages of 7-11. If this is what you are looking for, upload a childhood photo if you desire your "true" natural color. Other photos uploaded should reflect any other color or design preferences that you have.

For current hair photo's, please follow these guidelines:

REQUIRED PHOTO ANGLES (5 Total):

  1. FRONT VIEW

    • Face the camera straight on, with your full face and hairline visible.

    • Let your hair fall naturally — how you typically wear it day-to-day.

    • Ensure your entire head is in the frame.

  2. TOP / PART LINE

    • Take this from above your head, directly over your part.

    • Make sure your roots, scalp, and any grown-out color are clearly visible.

    • Part your hair if needed to best show the regrowth or natural color.

  3. LEFT SIDE VIEW

    • Turn your head fully to the right, so the entire left side of your hair is visible.

    • Make sure your ear, temple area, and length of hair are included.

  4. RIGHT SIDE VIEW

    • Turn your head fully to the left and repeat the same process for the right side.

    • Again, be sure to include the temple, hairline, and length.

  5. BACK VIEW

    • Have someone take this for you or use a mirror with your phone.

    • Pull your hair back naturally or let it hang as you normally wear it.

    • Be sure the full back of your head and hair is clearly visible, from crown to ends.

💡 PRO TIPS FOR BEST RESULTS:

  • Lighting: Use bright, natural daylight. Stand near a window facing outward or step outside briefly (avoid direct sunlight or overhead lighting).

  • Background: Use a neutral wall or simple background with no visual clutter.

  • Hair Prep: Your hair should be clean, dry, and styled how you typically wear it — no wet hair, buns, or hats.

  • No Filters: Do not apply beauty filters, color edits, or soft focus — I need to see true tones and textures.

  • File Size/Resolution: Please ensure your photos are clear, high-resolution, and not pixelated or blurry.
