The Art of Consultation

This Is A Specialist Intake,
Not A Generic Salon Questionnaire

This isn't most stylists' booking form, it's a diagnostic intake. Hair color is chemistry. Your history is data. The more I know before you sit in my chair, the safer I process, the better I formulate, the longer your results hold. Think dermatologist intake, not shampoo-bowl chitchat. 25+ years of corrective color, gray transitions, and advanced lightening went into knowing what to ask. Most consultations skip 90% of this. This doesn't.

Be honest about box dye, henna, or beauty-supply purchases, even years ago. No judgment, but henna and metallic salts can react violently with lightener, and box dye lifts unpredictably. I need to know to keep your hair safe.

What it covers: contact basics, current hair state, color history, goals, and photos.

Fill it out thoroughly, upload clear photos, be honest, even the box dye, even the Sun-In, even the thing your friend did. Your hair is worth it.  I personally review every submission. I read your intake, look at your photos, and respond by email with next steps to get you in the chair.

“Pulled through” means color was applied to your roots and then combed or brushed down through the length of your hair.

"Corrective" or "I don't know": "For your consultation, the photos do most of the work. Take your time on these — bright natural daylight, plain background, clean dry hair, no filters. They're how I see what's really going on with your color before we talk."

Healthy hair holds color better and lasts longer.

Upload 1 clear front-view photo. Face the camera straight on with your full hairline visible; wear your hair how you normally do.

Take from directly above your head over your part so roots, scalp, and any regrowth are clearly visible.

Turn so the entire right side is visible, including temple, hairline, and full length.

Turn so the entire left side is visible, including temple, hairline, and full length.

Full back of your head from crown to ends. Have someone take it or use a mirror.

Pull your hair up into a ponytail or clip. Show the nape and underneath layers.

Upload 2–5 inspiration photos of what you want.

Upload 2–5 photos of what you don’t want.

Most people see their natural color as the color of their hair between ages 7–11. If you want to match your natural childhood shade, upload a childhood photo in natural light.
